Kamala Khan first appeared in *Captain Marvel* #14 (August 2013) but is best known for being the titular character of Ms. Marvel Vol 3 #1 (February 2014). She is a Pakistani-American teenager from Jersey City, New Jersey.

Kamala is an Inhuman, a descendant of humans who were experimented on by the alien Kree. After being exposed to the Terrigen Mist, Kamala develops shapeshifting abilities, allowing her to alter her appearance, stretch her limbs, and increase her size. She is a huge fan of Carol Danvers, the original Ms. Marvel (now Captain Marvel), and takes up the mantle as her own superhero identity.
